📍 Set and enforce healthy mental boundaries

Your peace matters. Anything that drains you can’t be sustained and forgetting to protect yourself can cause you to break down emotionally.

Get to know yourself. Assess what brings you joy and what causes unnecessary pain. Once you are clear, set and enforce those boundaries. If the individual does not respect your or your boundaries, enforce the consequences you have for anyone that does not respect them.

Tips to Start Your Healing:

📍Taking baby steps

Setting unrealistic expectations can backfire and be overwhelming or make you think you’ve failed. Making small changes (ex: practice saying no), can add up over time that helps carry you through your healing.

📍Understanding setbacks may happen

You’re not a failure if a setback occurs. It’s actually normal. This is why it’s important to feel your feelings because they can stay dormant for a while and pop up at the worst time. Practice being still and checking in with yourself. What are u feeling? Give it a name. Explore those feelings and give them space.

📍Prioritize self-compassion and self-care

Self-reflection takes time and energy. Taking time to explore is work so be sure to give a lot to yourself during this time. Pay attention to your body and be gentle with yourself. Forgive yourself for those things that you might be holding on to.

📍Ask for help

Healing doesn’t have to be done alone. Reaching out for support, guidance, and just to simply process your feelings and break them down can benefit you in your journey.
