📍Put your feelings into words

Many times when we feel hurt, we either want to suppress our emotions or act out. For you to truly let go, allow yourself to feel your emotions and express the things that made you hurt. Talk to a friend, write in your journal, or even speak them out loud to yourself. The goal is to label and acknowledge your feelings.

📍Make peace

It’s pretty common to find yourself reliving painful situations and going over every detail of how things could have been different “if only... (fill in the blank)”. Continuing to ruminate over how things could be different, only keeps you stuck. Acknowledge the situation and accept that it happened. *Note: This may take some time

📍Learn forgiveness

Work on learning to forgive others and/or yourself. You may not be at a point where you are ready to forgive someone else but you can work on forgiving yourself.

📍Give yourself permission to move on

Give yourself grace and permission to move on, to put the past behind you, focus face forward to the future and start something new.

📍Find support

Getting to a point of letting go is a big step. Don’t be afraid to seek support during this time. Talk to a therapist, family member, or friend or even join a support group of individuals going through a similar situation.
